Warsaw Pact
The Warsaw Pact was an agreement formed by the Soviet Union and its allies. It sought to smother any democratic uprisings in Warsaw Pact nations, because it was a serious threat to communism. The members of the Warsaw Pact believed that communism was the ultimate form of government and that anything else was evil and futile. The original members were the Soviet Union, Albania Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Rumania. The Warsaw Pact was created around the same time that NATO was created, and the two pacts were quite similar to each other. They both created a documented alliance and stated they each member would protect all othe ally members in the event of attacks. The major difference between the two was that they were created for enemy nations. The Warsaw Pact members believed mainly in communism, while the NATO members believed mainly in democracy.
