Berlin Airlift
This is a supply plane carrrying
food to the starving Berliners.
This was a blockade that the Soviets put on the Allied sector of Berlin in order to starve the citizens into supporting the Soviets. They cut off all electrical power as well as cutting off the transfer of ALL supplies to the western sectors. The Allied response was a massive fleet of air-supply planes that carried food to these hungry people. They flew day and night to provide rations for the citizens. The outcome: the Warsaw pact issued by the Allies ended the siege and opened up the roads and waters again
