Balfour Declaration
This was a letter written from the British Foreign Secretary, Arthur Balfour, to Baron Rothschild, the leader of the British Jewish community, in 1917. It declared Britain’s approval for the Jews to call Palestine their homeland. AFter everything that the Jews endured during World War 2, they deserved a place where they could settle down and begin to rebuild their lives. Due to the Balfour Declaration, Palestine would soon become inhabited by the Jews and dubbed as the new state of Israel.
